CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: You can call this next installment of the Talk of CNN truly award winning. We want to check in with Andy and Alison and the morning crew from radio station WIVK in Knoxville to find out the hot topics in Tennessee.
And guys, I understand you've been given a high honor by the Country Music Association?

ALISON, WIVK RADIO HOST: Yes.

ANDY, WIVK RADIO HOST: That's right.

CHAD MYERS, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hey, congratulations.

ALISON: Thank you very much.

ANDY: It goes to show you, money can buy anything.

COSTELLO: Oh, well, what the heck is this award?

ANDY: It's the media market air personality of the year from the Country Music Association, which really is the highest honor in the country music field. So we're honored and we thank our listeners and everybody who's helped us along the way. I mean it's a great honor.

COSTELLO: Well, god bless you. That's fabulous.

MYERS: Hey, when are those CMA awards on, by the way?

ANDY: They're coming up the first week in November. They'll be on CBS and I think it's the fifth of November, on that Wednesday night. It's always on a Wednesday night so.

ALISON: Yes, live from Nashville.

ANDY: Yes.

ALISON: So we'll be on Nashville TV for about two and a half seconds.

ANDY: That's right.

ALISON: Something like that.

ANDY: So look closely.

COSTELLO: We will. Hey, let's talk about this police officer who was hit by a car. This video that we just showed was just nasty.

ANDY: Ah, man, can you believe that? I first saw that video and it was like I thought I was watching an episode of like, you know, "Cops" or something on TV. It's a horrible video. And what...

COSTELLO: And just so people know, the police officer had only minor injuries and is OK.

ANDY: That's right.

ALISON: Which is amazing because if you look at that video, it looks like -- I don't know how fast the car was going, but it was going pretty fast and threw her up over the hood of the car. And it's just amazing and we're so glad that she is all right.

COSTELLO: And the story behind this, there was an 18-year-old driving the car and she was allegedly drunk.

ANDY: That's right. And, in fact, the passenger in the car has also been charged with some charges, as well. Now, it looks like there is, what has erupted here is, of course, as everybody expected would, there's a dispute on whether or not she was actually served alcohol at a bar, which is on the strip here, what we call the strip. It's a part of Cumberland Avenue that goes through the University of Tennessee.

And the question is whether they served her beer or not. But...

COSTELLO: Well, didn't the bar lose its liquor license?

ANDY: They did. They sure did, and that's still, you know, pending and all of this is under investigation. But just a couple of investigators said that both the girls were wearing wristbands apparently on the scene that said, that they were given at the bar, saying they were over 21. So that doesn't look good for the bar. But on the other hand, you know, there's still everything, I'm sure, is going to be worked out and we'll hear some more details about that.

COSTELLO: Well, did these girls have fake I.D.s to get in?

ANDY: That I don't know. I do know that there's allegations that they knew one of the people who worked in the bar and the bartender and there's some personal relationship there that may come into play, as well. So that'll be, again, we'll find out that as this unfolds.

COSTELLO: Has the officer who was hit by the car talked out at all?

ANDY: Not really. She's been pretty quiet, I'm sure probably because of, under the advice of the police department and her attorneys and all. But I'm sure there has to be litigation that's going to happen because of this. I mean this was, you know, especially since all of this was captured on video. Everybody's talking about it. There's going to be some more that comes of this.

COSTELLO: Absolutely.

Andy and Alison, thank you very much.

And, again, congratulations on your big country music award.

ALISON: Thank you very much.

ANDY: Thank you guys.

COSTELLO: We'll check back with you next week.
