CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: It's not everyday that an anchor gets to say this: The rally monkey does his magic at the World Series.
Let's turn our attention now to sports. Joining us to talk baseball and football, Chris Cotter of 790 of The Zone, in The Zone, of The Zone, The Zone.

CHRIS COTTER, 790 THE ZONE: We're all in The Zone today.

CALLAWAY: You know...

COTTER: The rally monkey is in The Zone.

CALLAWAY: ... are you watching the World Series? Like it's kind of hard to watch.

COTTER: All right, it was four hours and 25 minutes, about, yesterday.

CALLAWAY: They're not even -- the people...

(CROSSTALK)

COTTER: The game ended at 12:05 a.m. Eastern Time, the game ended.

CALLAWAY: Did you watch it last night?

COTTER: I'm thinking most people watching now -- what is it, 6:40...

CALLAWAY: (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

COTTER: ... were not watching at 12:05 a.m.

CALLAWAY: All right.

COTTER: They missed a great game if they didn't see the whole thing.

CALLAWAY: Did the Angels beat the Giants?

COTTER: The Angels won in a game that was very American-League- like, 11 to10, a lot of hits, a lot of runs, a lot of late-inning heroics. The Angels had a 5 to nothing lead early in this game, the first inning. And here we have a homerun here in the eighth inning to give the Angels a two-run lead. Barry Bonds would eventually answer in the 9th inning with a monster blast.

CALLAWAY: You know what?

COTTER: Check this out.

CALLAWAY: Chris, if you like a hitting game, this is the series to watch.

COTTER: I mean, this was just six-and-a-half hours ago. This ball still has not landed yet. Look, you can't see where it lands. It hasn't come down yet.

Yes, this is an unbelievable World Series, and the rally monkey, you were mentioning, the fans -- this is what makes the series interesting. You'll never see a rally monkey with the Yankees. You know why? Because the Yankee fans expect to be there. Yes, they're loud and they're raucous and they go crazy, but they expect to be in the World Series. The Anaheim Angels fans don't, so you get a rally monkey, they're throwing it up in the air. It's a lot of fun. It's a lot of fun to watch.

CALLAWAY: Well, that's because most of the time New York is in the series, you know?

COTTER: Yes, every single year. That's why this series -- the people said, oh, we would have loved to have had a Braves-Yankee series, but it would have been boring compared to this series, because these two teams are not supposed to be there, or they weren't expect to be there at the beginning of the year. So, that's what makes it so intriguing, I think.

CALLAWAY: We saw the Falcons fans gathering this week, and boy, did they just walk all over the Panthers.

COTTER: And Mike Vick was injured last week, and he comes back to play this week.

CALLAWAY: Right.

COTTER: And here's a young man who people expect the world of, and maybe a lot of people expected too much, too soon. But I mean, watch this play right here. He's a guy who makes something out of nothing.

First of all, Todd Weiner, the lineman, catches it. He's not going to do anything with it. He better get it back to Mike Vick, and he does. Mike Vick gets a block, and look at the speed when he gets outside here, gets the first down on a completely broken play.

That's what he is going to give the Atlanta Falcons is getting something out of nothing on every play, 30 to nothing, the Falcons really showed, hey, Mike Vick can be somebody for the future. CALLAWAY: Let's talk about overtime. There were some long games.

(CROSSTALK)

COTTER: Lots of overtime games, and lots of important overtime games when you talk about early season match-ups and some real showdowns. And look at this one here.

CALLAWAY: That's San Diego.

COTTER: Yes, the AFC-West, the Chargers and the Raiders, and the Raiders took a lead in this one, but the Chargers came back to get the win. And this is big, because the Chargers are now 6 and 1 on the season. Last year, they started off so strong and faded at the end, but they're playing in the NFL's toughest division, the AFC-West. LaDainian Tomlinson right there, a monster day, 39 carries, and San Diego gets the win in overtime with that touchdown run right there.

Denver and Kansas City, also another overtime game, another AFC- West showdown. Shannon Sharp, the guy is 34 years of age, just set a record yesterday, 214 yards receiving for a tight end in the NFL, breaking a 30-year-old...

CALLAWAY: I love it when you sound like he's old, because he's so young.

COTTER: Yes, I know, 34...

CALLAWAY: Because he's ancient, right?

COTTER: Well, did you just see him go 85 yards or whatever that was?

CALLAWAY: Yes, he is.

COTTER: At 34 years of age, that's pretty darn good. He's got some years left in him, and Denver gets a big, big win, bouncing back from their disappointing loss on Sunday night.

CALLAWAY: Do you want to get the Browns in yet?

COTTER: Look at that.

CALLAWAY: Here we go.

COTTER: You know what? I think the Browns lost their uniforms, and they went to Bowling Green State University just down the road to borrow theirs -- the Falcons uniforms. Those orange jerseys, the first time they've ever worn those.

CALLAWAY: Wow!

COTTER: Now, if you remember watching the Browns back in the '70s and '80s, they used to have orange pants -- you know, the brown jerseys and the orange pants. They went away from those, and I think Browns fans were thankful they did that. What do you think about these orange uniforms?

CALLAWAY: I don't know. They're like (UNINTELLIGIBLE) bulbs (ph) to me, all of that orange.

COTTER: Are you in favor? Are you against?

CALLAWAY: You know...

COTTER: Would you like to see -- now, usually they were...

CALLAWAY: ... I mean, they're different.

COTTER: ... they were white and white. You know, that's kind of bland and boring.

CALLAWAY: Yes.

COTTER: Break out the orange. They needed to do something to mix it up, and you know, if you mix up the jerseys, sometimes it works. They got a win yesterday, so it worked.

CALLAWAY: Hey, they're easy to spot. We'll say glow in the dark. Do they glow in the dark?

COTTER: For Tim Couch, yes, the quarterback, he can spot his receivers downfield, no problem.

CALLAWAY: All right, Chris, have a good day.

COTTER: OK, you, too.

CALLAWAY: Good to see you again.

COTTER: Good seeing you.
