CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: It is time for the "Talk of CNN" segment. Today, Bruce Alan from WTOP Radio News in Washington, D.C. joins us by phone.
Hands down, Bruce, your listeners are talking arrests and relief I imagine.

BRUCE ALAN, WTOP RADIO NEWS, WASHINGTON, D.C.: It is almost euphoria. What a relief it is. What a great feeling! I mean people were kind of giddy yesterday afternoon. Been a long time.

COSTELLO: You're not kidding. So people are out on the streets, schools are open, things are back to normal?

ALAN: Yes, most schools are, some are still not, but most schools are going back to normal today. You know the high schoolers will be going out to lunch, football games will be played this weekend. It's like a nice spring day when you get a little spring fever. Everybody's feeling kind of giddy.

COSTELLO: I understand that some people have been driving past the Montgomery County police station giving a thumbs up for Chief Moose and honking their horns in appreciation.

ALAN: I think that was wonderful. I came -- people came by yesterday with flowers and with baked cookies and things like that. People are so grateful. Some of the folks who were there at the evening press conference with Chief Moose yesterday, not the reporters, but some of the relatives, the family members and the friends of those who did suffer through this attack most of all, you know it broke out into applause for Chief Moose and the task force.

And when you think about all the stress that everybody was under through this whole ordeal, imagine how the members of the task force had to cope the last few weeks given what they were charged with. So I hope Chief Moose and the task force, they all grab their family and go sit on a beach somewhere and drink a drink with a little umbrella in it or something.

COSTELLO: Absolutely. Hey, Bruce, I wanted to ask you about this, if you were to guess right now from the many interviews you have conducted, which court system will take jurisdiction in this case?

ALAN: Well it looks like it could be federal at the start. But you know we've heard other expert opinions saying they could leave their options open on several fronts so that if something doesn't happen the way they want it to on one, they could go back and retry it in another court.

COSTELLO: Are you hearing that there is a fight between prosecutors from these seven jurisdictions?

ALAN: I'm sure there is some competition, but I'm not hearing too much about a fight.

COSTELLO: OK, well that's a good thing. Of course they'll be talking about that today and we'll be following it, as will you.

Bruce Alan, thank you very much for being with us all week long. We appreciate it. Bruce Alan, WTOP Radio News in Washington, D.C.
