CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: And we want to talk more about next week's elections, specifically Florida politics. Governor Jeb Bush was certainly put on the spot Tuesday.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

REP. CARRIE MEEK (D), FLORIDA: I came to ask you if you would call your brother and ask him to call INS to release the Haitians that are in detention.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

COSTELLO: That was Florida Representative Carrie Meek pushing Governor Bush to get some help for the Haitians who came ashore in Florida earlier this week.

We want to get reaction from this from Kevin Cross and Virginia McGrane of Wild 95.5 Radio in West Palm Beach. They're on the phone with us now -- good morning.

KEVIN CROSS, WILD 95.5 RADIO, WEST PALM BEACH: Good morning, Carol.

VIRGINIA MCGRANE, WILD 95.5 RADIO, WEST PALM BEACH: Good morning.

COSTELLO: Oh, Governor Bush looked so uncomfortable.

CROSS: Oh, how ugly was that? Did you see how close that girl was standing to him in proximity, though, too?

COSTELLO: Oh yes, she was like pointing right in his face.

CROSS: Oh boy, I'll tell you what, you know right now with Governor Bush down here in Florida, things are already looking tight in this race, and he really did not need this to happen to him at this point in the election.

COSTELLO: Do you think this will hurt him?

CROSS: Yes, you know what, I think there are a lot of uncomfortable situations that Governor Bush is having to address right now, not only the Haitian situation, some situations with his daughter, Noelle, and education is also a big talk down here in South Florida.

COSTELLO: How many times has the president been to visit to help his brother?

CROSS: You know what, not as much as he needs to be, and, you know.

MCGRANE: Not nearly enough to get him out of the trouble.

CROSS: You would think there'd be a little bit more family love there, because you know with one Bush out (ph), this is such a big governor's race, too. I'm really surprised that we haven't seen more from the president down here.

COSTELLO: Yes, definitely. Quickly, before I have to let you go, let's talk about balloting and if things will go smoothly in Florida.

MCGRANE: Oh God, we hope so.

CROSS: This is our one chance. Palm Beach County, we have to redeem ourselves.

MCGRANE: Yes, we do.

CROSS: The only thing I don't like is this governor race with McBride and Bush is looking so close right now, leave it up to Palm Beach County, you're going to have something to talk about Wednesday morning when we screw it up again.

COSTELLO: Oh well, I know lawyers from both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party are standing by.

CROSS: I'm sure they are...

COSTELLO: Waiting to work out any problems, OK.

CROSS: Exactly.

COSTELLO: Thank you guys very much for bringing us up to date there.
