DARYN KAGAN, CNN ANCHOR: Final minute of this hour, we are trying to pick a race we haven't looked at that much, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, former Energy Secretary in the Clinton administration, going to run the state of New Mexico.
STUART ROTHENBERG, CNN POLITICAL ANALYST: Yes, there's been a Republican governor, Gary Johnson (ph), somewhat controversial, particularly with his views on drugs. The Republicans thought they had a good candidate, John Sanchez, a young state legislator. He lost, but he's the kind of guy who you might see two, four, five years down the road. But Bill Richardson represented one of the congressional districts in the state, well known, Hispanic, seems like the heir apparent.

LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Yes, speaking of Hispanic, we were talking about Sanchez and taxes a little while ago here. Have we seen enough information yet to know whether or not there is any sort of trend upward or whichever direction for Hispanic or other minority candidates?

ROTHENBERG: No, I think, again, it depends on the state. Well certainly we know that the dream team turned out to be a nightmare for the Democrats. The Senate race Ron Kirk really never got as close as people thought he might get. Tony Sanchez spent all that money and the last numbers I saw suggested he was down by about 18 percentage points.

There is an interesting race here, I have no idea who won, I hope someone will tell us, lieutenant governor's race, maybe we can talk about that later.

HARRIS: OK, because we have to take a break.

KAGAN: OK, because...

HARRIS: We'll get to that and others later on.

KAGAN: We will do that.

HARRIS: All right. Stay with us.
