BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Speaking of chilly, what's going on with ice cream these days?
ANDY SERWER, "FORTUNE" MAGAZINE: This is the most insidious story. Can I use that word on Paula's show? Insidious story that I've come across this wave of corporate malfeasance has come across America in the past few years. The size of ice cream containers are shrinking without telling us and it charging us the same amount of money. This is Dreier's (ph), they make Eddy's. OK, it used to be the primary shapes of this to come in. If it was one gallon, it's called the brick in this business. And quietly, ice cream makers have been shrinking it to 1.75 quarts. So it's not 2 quarts. It's a little bit less than the gallon, and charging the same amount of money. Now, you know these things are up to $5 a half gallon. They're around 5 bucks a half gallon. You've seen the ice cream people doing it, just like candy bars.

HEMMER: Did you find this out, or did somebody else do the research on that?

SERWER: No, I did the research on this.

HEMMER: You went in the stores and you checked out the weight, the volume?

SERWER: We were doing very serious research. My children were involved. the new Milky War brand, Milky Way bars Eddy's. It's a bad scene. But they're doing it, and they're not telling us about it. But now you know.

HEMMER: That's your children's favorite story since the Halloween candy shopping spree.

SERWER: They're on this speed, candy, ice cream. My kids really cover this better than any other kids out there.
