MARTIN SAVIDGE, CNN ANCHOR: Now to those escaped convicts that have now been arrested. They got away from Kentucky, but they're now back behind bars, after what was a multistate crime spree. The FBI says that Chadrick Fulks was caught today in northern Indiana. He's suspected of abducting a woman in South Carolina.
CNN's Charles Molineaux is live from Shiloh, North Carolina, where also, we're expecting a police briefing, I believe, what? Next hour, is that it?

CHARLES MOLINEAUX, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Yes, within an hour or so, Martin. Of course, we do have two escapees back behind bars, but the question is, what happened to Alice Donovan? She is actually still missing.

Now, the latest suspect caught is 25-year-old Chadrick Fulks. He and another man escaped from a jail in Hopkins County, Kentucky two weeks ago. Police say that Fulks was arrested today, after he tried to rob a bank in Middlebury, Indiana. You may remember it was Chadrick Fulks that police in Ohio say led them on a break-neck, high- speed chase. That happened in Marion, Ohio, north of Columbus, on Monday night.

Ohio State Troopers spotted Fulks in what the FBI says was Alice Donovan's BMW. The police say he then took off in a race that reached speeds of 130 miles an hour, and ultimately lost him.

Now, it was Sunday night that police in Ashland, Kentucky caught their other fugitive, 21-year-old Branden Basham He allegedly tried to pull a carjacking, and then ended up in a gun fight with police before he finally surrendered.

The question remains: What happened to the woman these two are accused of kidnapping? Forty--four-year-old Alice Donovan was carjacked and kidnapped from a Wal-Mart parking lot in Conway, South Carolina last Thursday. She hasn't been seen since, although her ATM card was used several times afterwards, including as far north as Raleigh, North Carolina.

So, police search teams have been taking to the air and hunting on the ground along the North Carolina and South Carolina state line, looking for clues. Deputies from Horry County, South Carolina and Brunswick County, North Carolina are going along the stretch of U.S. Highway 17, where police say they know, as they put it, beyond a doubt that Fulks and Basham came through.

They also have a Marine helicopter up from the Marine air base at Cherry Point, North Carolina.

Here in Shiloh, North Carolina, we're waiting for word from the Brunswick County Sheriff's office. This briefing is supposed to be coming up in less than an hour, Martin. We're hoping to get some idea of where things stand right now.

The FBI has been very worried, of course, about Alice Donovan's safety, especially as time goes on, as they have put it repeatedly, in this case, time is not on their side. She has not turned up with the arrest of Chadrick Fulks. The question remains: Where is she, and can she be brought home safely?

SAVIDGE: Charles Molineaux, we'll look forward to that briefing. Thanks very much. As always, keep us posted.
