CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: Now it is time for the Talk of CNN, where we find out what's on the minds of people across the country. So, what are the hot topics in Boston?
Well, for that we check in with the Star 93.7 Morning Show on Radio Station WQSX in Boston.

Good morning, everyone.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Oh, good morning. How are you?

CALLAWAY: Doing well. Hey, I hear the winds of gambling may be blowing through Massachusetts? What's up with that?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well, frankly, it's about time. I mean there's been a budget shortfall in the Commonwealth now for over a year and they need to find ways to make money. And there's a lot of communities in this town that I think could benefit from it.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: And right now a lot of our money is going to Connecticut, with Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods and all the seniors. Oh, and I love the seniors.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Let's keep the money here.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Let's keep the money in Massachusetts.

CALLAWAY: Well, what's the change? Why does it seem like more likely now?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Well, because we'll have a lot, many more politicians, new politicians on the Hill coming up next year and you don't know how they're going to vote. And it looks like they are for it.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well, the governor elect says he wants to look at it. He came from a business background and he knows the revenue that legalized gambling could bring to Massachusetts. And it seems like people from the other side of the statehouse are beginning to like say, you know, this might not be a bad idea.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Right.

CALLAWAY: Your governor elect, Mitt Romney, saying he's receptive, at least, to the idea. That's, I guess, a boost for those who are pushing for it. UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We'll see what happens. This one's going to be interesting after the first of the year. I think they're really, I think it's really going to heat up after the holiday season. And it seems lately that they've been big on the monthly revenue the state is bringing in, so we'll see what the receipts look like at the end of the year.

CALLAWAY: Hey, what's the latest on the Massachusetts Turnpike extension opening up?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The big eight?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It's been going on for like over 12 years.

CALLAWAY: Is that all?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: And $14.6 billion...

CALLAWAY: Oh, my gosh.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It's supposed to be, there's supposed to be an extension that's supposed to open up to connect the Massachusetts Turnpike to Logan Airport. It was supposed to open in time for the Christmas season. That's not happening. So we'll see. It's really, it's actually pretty funny at this point.

CALLAWAY: A lot of electronic issues there, too, they're working out, right?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well, there's these cameras and then there's this notification system and they have to test it for the ninth time. And so we're waiting for that to happen.

CALLAWAY: All right, well, that would be a big boost for everyone, I know.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We hope so.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Hey, have a great Thanksgiving.

CALLAWAY: Yes, you, too.

Ralphie and Karen, have a great day.
