CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We are going to talk a little sports because exciting stuff in the NFL.
Dave Johnson is traveling with the Wizards from WTOP Radio in Washington.

Good morning, Dave. You can hear me now, right?

DAVE JOHNSON, WTOP RADIO, WASHINGTON: Good morning, loud and clear.

COSTELLO: And I was just telling you when we were in the break that the Wizards were actually mentioned on Friends last night.

JOHNSON: Well, you know we're the hot team right now in the NBA with Michael Jordan and we've got a two-game winning streak. And we're riding high, and we're going to try to beat Orlando tonight with Tracy McGrady.

COSTELLO: A two-game winning streak.

You know let's talk a little bit about Michael Vick and football, because you know I love football. Michael Vick has made the Falcons football so exciting.

JOHNSON: Hey, he's the talk of the NFL right now. He had a queasy stomach that kept him out of practice. He may be giving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a queasy stomach, though, this weekend. One hundred seventy-three yards rushing. I still can't get over that number, and of course it's the most ever by a quarterback. Who needs everybody else on the field when you've got Michael Vick, the most electrifying player right now in the National Football League. But they run into a big challenge this weekend with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, first place on the line, but it'll be a big challenge.

COSTELLO: Oh yes, with big Warren Sapp. You know what's funny, in the Atlanta paper they actually had a primer for Falcons fans because no one's been showing up to the games in the past few years. So the paper kind of wanted to give them a history so they would understand what all is happening on the field this year.

JOHNSON: Yes, even though they play in a dome, there's some fair-weather fans there in Atlanta.

COSTELLO: Very fair-weather fans.

Let's talk about the Army-Navy football game, because I know that's a favorite topic of yours.

JOHNSON: It was. I used to cover it in the late '80s, and it's just a special, special game. And 7 of the last 10 games have been decided in the last minutes. Both these teams have bad records, that doesn't matter, it really is just a special event. It's hard to even capture the emotion unless you're inside the stadium. But no matter what you think of the records of the teams, this is a game worth taking a look at.

COSTELLO: Doesn't one or the other usually win? I can't remember which one.

JOHNSON: No, it kind of goes back and forth, although Army did win last year, but it does go back and forth. And this is the 103rd meeting, so it -- actually, it's a pretty even rivalry.

COSTELLO: OK, Dave Johnson, thanks. You have fun down there in Orlando with the Wizards. Thanks.

Dave Johnson of WTOP.
