CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: OK, we want to talk a little bit more about Christmas and how American troops are celebrating overseas.
We want to head live to Kuwait now to Ryan Chilcote because I know Santa paid a visit to the troops in Kuwait -- Ryan.

RYAN CHILCOTE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: That's correct. I'm at the -- with -- at Camp New York with the 3rd Infantry Division. These soldiers here are very kindly holding off on their Christmas dinner which just began. Christmas dinner just beginning here at 2:00 in the afternoon. They're going to get baked ham, baked turkey, roast beef, mashed potatoes, collard greens (INAUDIBLE). Of course it wouldn't be complete without the non-alcoholic country apple juice.

But let's talk to the soldiers and see how they feel today. How many (INAUDIBLE)? A lot of people got family back home, you're in the middle of the desert in Kuwait, how you feeling about that? I know you've -- this is your third Christmas here.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: This is my third time here, Christmas '98, Christmas 2000 and Christmas 2002. I'm feeling pretty good. I'm pretty relaxed over here this time. It's just kind of a -- we're just wondering what's going to happen out here and we're just waiting (INAUDIBLE).

CHILCOTE: Is this Christmas any different than the other Christmases because of that?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well the fact that the other two times I knew how long I was going to (INAUDIBLE). It's just we don't know and I think that's the only thing that really got us -- got (INAUDIBLE).

CHILCOTE: Sure. I know your family is watching, you want to say hello?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I just want to say hello to my mother and father and my wife, Laura, and daughter, Senell (ph), son, Chase (ph), and my sister and family back home. Thank you.

CHILCOTE: OK.

How long you been here?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I've been here for about (INAUDIBLE). Coming out of Fort Stewart, HAC 3rd ID (ph) you know (INAUDIBLE). Just want to say hello to my family in Gainesville, Florida, to my fiancee in Albany, Georgia and my brother in Jacksonville. CHILCOTE: You got a fiancee, how does she feel about you being out here?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: She don't like it too much. She might be here in a couple of weeks herself.

(LAUGHTER)

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Catch the red-eye here (ph).

CHILCOTE: OK, and who else wants to say something?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: I have two kids, Willie and Walter Jeter (ph), and I have my husband, Willie Jeter (ph). I want to say (INAUDIBLE) and I'm enjoying it all here as much as possible. Thanks (INAUDIBLE).

CHILCOTE: OK.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: (INAUDIBLE) my wife, Cassandra Jill (ph), my son, Michael Hasheen (ph) and my (INAUDIBLE) two in-laws.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: You bogarted (ph) (UNINTELLIGIBLE).

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I miss you all. Can't wait to get back home.

CHILCOTE: OK. All right. Anybody get any extraordinary (INAUDIBLE) want to tell me about?

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yes, I got some Crunch (INAUDIBLE) me some Crunch (INAUDIBLE)...

COSTELLO: Oh we've stuck with it as long as possible, but you know those satellite signals from far overseas always give us problems.

And you know, Chad, I was feeling sorry for us working on Christmas, but...

CHAD MYERS, CNN METEOROLOGIST: Yes.

COSTELLO: ... we're not in Kuwait.

MYERS: No.

COSTELLO: That would be a terrible Christmas, but they're holding up as you saw.

MYERS: Are they not getting like turkeys ready to eat are they? Like...

COSTELLO: Yes.

MYERS: ... TREs and MREs or something. No, they're actually -- they're actually...

COSTELLO: Yes, turkey in a box.

MYERS: Turkey in a...

(LAUGHTER)

MYERS: I'm sure they're getting stuffing in a box, but other than that, right?

COSTELLO: Exactly.
