CATHERINE CALLAWAY, CNN ANCHOR: Well the playoff teams are now set for the NFL, but how did the final teams clinch their spots?
Let's check in with Jimmy Barrett, WRVA News Radio 1140 in Richmond, Virginia, on the phone with us this morning.

Good morning -- Jimmy.

JIMMY BARRETT, WRVA NEWS RADIO 1140, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA: Good morning, how are you?

CALLAWAY: Just wondering if you got together those graphics we need to go through the playoffs?

BARRETT: Well, hey, no drama (ph), keep this real simple today.

CALLAWAY: You know I think that one of the most interesting stories from this weekend was Atlanta and Cleveland. Atlanta gets in the playoffs but then they lose the game.

BARRETT: Well you thought in the beginning they were going to have to win in order to get into the game. They're playing at Cleveland. Browns are always tough at home, and the Browns have lost a lot of close games.

Here's a great touchdown run here, by the way, from -- 178 yards on the ground for the Cleveland Browns. That's how they -- that's how they won that game yesterday. So the Falcons end up backing into the playoffs.

Here's one of their -- there's the goal line stand right there. This is -- this is an opportunity to tie up the game; but no, Cleveland stuffs them. They get down, you know, second and goal, third and goal, fourth and goal. They get stopped so Cleveland Browns end up winning.

They, by the way, end up backing into the playoffs and that's because of the New York Jets. And it also is because the Miami-New England game. Let's go to the Miami-New England game because that -- I'll tell you what, that is some game.

Miami-New England go on -- here's the Jets and the Packers. The Jets big winners yesterday. They had to have a whole variety of things happen. They had to have the Dolphins lose, they had to have the Browns win and they end up getting into the playoffs. It is the first time that both the New York Jets and the New York Giants have made the playoffs since 1986. So congratulations to the New York Jets this morning.

And I'll tell you what, our losers of the day, I think we have to give that to the Miami Dolphins. They blew an 11-point lead, 11-point lead. Here we go, one quarter to play, not enough, Jets scored 11 points in 97 seconds. There's Tom Brady to Troy Brown, three-yard pass. That made it 24-22. They ended up getting a two point conversion and they ended up getting in field goal range of this pass right here. So Adam Vinatieri, he got a chance for the 43-yard game winner. Here that one comes -- I mean he has just been solid all year long -- sneaks it inside the right upright and there's your winner. New England, who thought, by the way, by beating Miami that they'd have an opportunity to go to the playoffs, they aren't going to make it either.

So are you ready to find out who's playing who?

CALLAWAY: Yes.

BARRETT: OK, good. Here we go. Wildcard games coming up this weekend, Indianapolis will be at New York to take on the Jets. Atlanta will be at Green Bay. Those are the Saturday games. Then Sunday you'll have Cleveland at Pittsburgh and the New York Giants, who had a big win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday, will end up going to San Francisco to take on the 49ers. So there you go, that's what's going on with the playoffs this upcoming weekend.

CALLAWAY: All right, Jimmy, thank you for keeping us up to date and following it for us.

BARRETT: Glad to do it. I'm glad we could keep the explanation semi-simple this morning. It hasn't been easy.

CALLAWAY: All right. Thanks, Jimmy. That's Jimmy Barrett, WRVA.
