FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: U.S. forces have been preparing for the possibility of war with Iraq.
And reporter Domenica Davis of CNN affiliate WAVE is in Louisville, Kentucky as some troops are deploying.

Good morning -- Domenica.

DOMENICA DAVIS, WAVE-TV REPORTER: Good morning.

We are here in Butrell (ph), Kentucky where the soldiers right now, this is from the 223rd Military, they are getting ready to pack up and head off to Louisville International Airport. From there they will be deployed to Fort Dix in New Jersey where they will go on training for one to one-and-a-half months there.

We do have Sgt. Brian Cruger (ph) with us.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.

DAVIS: Twenty-five-year-old Sgt. Brian Cruger.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.

DAVIS: And this is your second time being deployed here from Louisville, Kentucky. Tell me a little bit about what you're feeling this morning.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I'm feeling kind of motivated. I'm -- we're ready to go, ready to get the training done. Everything that we train up on -- in -- on our one weekend a month, two weeks out of every summer is going to be counted for when we get to Fort Dix and that's where we'll be graded on everything we trained.

DAVIS: Now you're -- it's not known where you're going to go once you do finish this training?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Right.

DAVIS: But do you have any -- what are the feelings about this uncertainty of where you will in fact go?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It's the fear of not knowing. I mean everybody's feeling it; but again, we're all also thinking that no matter where we go we'll do a good job. If it's here in the states as homeland security, we'll do the same as we would do if we were abroad in some other nation. DAVIS: Now as I mentioned, there's about 183 soldiers here this morning, all of them are specialized in law enforcement here. They will be sent out there, actually getting ready to leave right now. We should probably let the sergeant head off here, but they are headed off to Louisville International Airport where they are going to go on to Fort Dix, New Jersey.

We're live in Butrell, Kentucky, Domenica Davis.

WHITFIELD: All right, Domenica, thank you very much.
