HEIDI COLLINS, CNN ANCHOR: Now, more on our top story -- an Oregon man accused of killing his pregnant wife and three kids is now in custody, after two weeks on the lam. Two witnesses spotted the man in a drug store parking lot, in Baker City, and tipped of the police.
Reporter Jamie Wilson of affiliate station KPTV has more.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

JAMIE WILSON, KPTV CORRESPONDENT: The witnesses, a brother and sister, spotted Edward Morris driving west on I-84. They recognized his face, his license plate, and they followed him into Baker City, to this RiteAid store. When Morris went inside, they grabbed this pay phone. That's when Helen Davis was coming out of Safeway, and she saw the witnesses in a panic.

HELEN DAVIS, SPOKE WITH TIPSTERS: And the lady was all shook up, and she really didn't know how to dial -- she's talking to her brother, and she asked him, "How do I dial 911," because she was so, you know, shook up, because they'd just seen the guy over at RiteAid.

WILSON: Baker City and Oregon State Police surrounded the store. One plainclothed officer went inside to get Morris.

SGT. LEE PIERCE, OREGON STATE TROOPER: As that plainclothed officer was going into the store, about ready to go into the store, the suspect had came out of the store, and was identified by the witnesses. The officers ordered him down to the ground, and he was cooperative, he went down on the ground immediately, and was taken into custody without incident.

WILSON: Police say Morris fully cooperated with the arrest. Tillamook County Sheriff Todd Anderson says Morris was wearing his eye glasses, he has a mustache. In fact the only thing Morris seems to have done to change his appearance is shave his head."

Anderson is relieved Morris is finally captured.

SHERIFF TODD ANDERSON, TILLAMOOK CO., OREGON: I believe that this is the first step in seeking justice for the victims of this crime. I believe it's a much safer place now that Edward Morris is in custody.

WILSON: Helen Davis feels safer as well. She just never thought the Morris manhunt would end here.

DAVIS: Maybe, he thought, a little town like Baker City, wouldn't nobody be looking for him here, you know.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: But he got caught.

WILSON: But he got caught.

COLLINS: That was reporter Jamie Wilson, of our affiliate station KPTV in Portland.
