RENAY SAN MIGUEL, CNN ANCHOR: In California, police are searching a marina for Laci Peterson, the pregnant woman who went missing Christmas Eve. CNN's Ed Lavandera is keeping watch on the investigation. He joins us now from Modesto -- Ed.
ED LAVANDERA, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Renay. Well, investigators here and search teams plan on doing the same thing today, they expect good weather conditions that will allow them to fan out in the areas surrounding Modesto, California, to continue the search for 27-year-old Laci Peterson. That search also includes the Berkeley marina. Again, likely today, as investigators here say that until they're completely satisfied that they've done a thorough search of that marina, they'll continue to do so.

What they're using is a team of about 16 cadaver dogs, six of those dogs will be -- were sent yesterday to the Berkeley marina. It's likely that will again happen today. The rest of those dogs will be used in the surrounding counties as well.

Now, they're saying that they've gotten about 1,600 tips so far into the tip line on this case, but still, no information to corroborate the story that Scott Peterson has told authorities that the last time he saw her, he saw his wife, was on December 24, 9:30 on Christmas Eve as he was heading out for his fishing trip in the Berkeley marina.

If you might remember, a couple of days ago, authorities putting out the pictures of his truck and boat, wanting more information, information from the public, from anyone who might have seen Scott Peterson making that journey on Christmas Eve and where his whereabouts might have been between December 23 and December 25.

So no new significant leads to report so far on the investigative side of this case. So the focus really remains on the search efforts. In fact, teams here being sent out again to scour the neighborhood, Laci Peterson's neighborhood. We understand teams went out there yesterday, searching the park where Laci Peterson was supposed to have walked her dog. They even went as far as uncovering all of the manholes in Laci Peterson's neighborhood, just double checking any kind of area that might have been overlooked the first time around -- Renay.

SAN MIGUEL: Ed Lavandera reporting from Modesto, California. Thank you, Ed.
