LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: We want to go to Washington now. Nancy Pelosi, the Democrat from California, is now being sworn in as minority leader in the House.

HARRIS: And with that, it is now official. Nancy Pelosi has now just been sworn in by the outgoing Democratic minority leader, Dick Gephardt, and she is now the first female leader of the party there in the House of Representatives. Nancy Pelosi is known as a more liberal voice of the Democratic Party and is going to be leading this party now (UNINTELLIGIBLE) influence in Washington and on the Hill has been greatly diminished. And there is now discussions (ph) about just how much she'll be able to accomplish.
