KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: More now on that plane crash in southeastern Turkey. This is what I can tell you: Turkish Airlines Flight 634 crashed on approach to Diyarbakir airport.
Rescue officials now on the scene. Witnesses describe the crash as a bad landing. They say there was no fire around the plane. Seventy-one passengers and a crew on (ph) five were aboard. I just got some updated numbers. Could you give those to me again please? We are now told 68 people have died, there are eight survivors.

Once again, 68 people have died, eight survivors. The flight began in Istanbul, it stopped in Ankara, and then was on its way to Diyarbakir when it crashed as it was coming in on landing. We are still trying to get more information on this situation. We are told the weather was reported to be foggy at the time of the crash.

If you don't know where Diyarbakir is, it's on the Turkish border with Iraq. It has a large Kurdish population. Once again, we have confirmed 68 people dead, eight survivors. As we are getting these pictures in, you can see inside the airport there in Diyarbakir as people are finding out about this plane crash that had 71 passengers on board, five crew.
