CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: It's time to talk relationships. Water cooler talk in south Florida, like other parts of the country, may focus today on that latest reality TV series.
JOHN VAUSE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: "The Bachelorette" is already a favorite of West Palm Beach's 95.5 Wild In the Morning Show.

Kevin Cross and Virginia McGrane are on the phone with us.

Good morning, guys.

KEVIN CROSS, WLDI RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: Good morning, John.

VIRGINIA MCGRANE, WLDI RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: Good morning.

CROSS: Good morning, Carol.

COSTELLO: Word is that Trista appeared in your studios and she said?

MCGRANE: She said that she was looking so forward to this because she wants to have a husband when it's all said and done.

CROSS: She actually said that she wanted me to be on "The Bachelorette" and she wanted to end the contest right there.

VAUSE: Yes.

MCGRANE: I don't remember that.

COSTELLO: Oh, yes.

CROSS: You don't remember that? What happened to you? That's exactly what she said.

COSTELLO: Oh, come on. She seriously thinks she's going to get a husband out of this?

MCGRANE: I think she does. Man, these candidates, these guys are really good stuff.

CROSS: I'll tell you what, she will because look at this, if she doesn't get a husband this time, she goes 0 for 2 on national television.

COSTELLO: Yes, but isn't it sort of an unnatural way to meet your future mate? MCGRANE: I don't think so. Nowadays there's so many different ways. You have the Internet, you have, you know, meeting at church. You can meet anywhere.

VAUSE: Oh, come on. I mean five years from now you think these guys are going to be married? No.

MCGRANE: I don't know. I mean there's always hope. Keep some hope alive, John and Carol.

VAUSE: Oh, the little flavor of hope there in Miami.

CROSS: John, you're a pessimist.

COSTELLO: Does she have the, I don't know, does she think there's anything wrong with one gal like trying out 25 guys all at one time.

VAUSE: There's a word for that.

CROSS: Right, you know, and a lot of people down here are using that, as well. That's the big discussion. Is she just being kind of like a new age woman who has taken basically control of her life or is she kind of looking like a tramp with this whole thing? That's what a lot of people are talking about down here?

COSTELLO: She was seen in the first episode kissing three different guys in quick succession.

CROSS: I know. Tell me about it.

VAUSE: It is the editing. I mean, you know, they could have been over a couple of days, they just cut it together.

MCGRANE: Yes.

CROSS: Such a double standard with this whole thing, though.

VAUSE: There you go.

CROSS: Nobody really said anything about both the bachelors, but when the bachelorette does it, it's going to be interesting to see what people are saying about her morals.

COSTELLO: Oh, well, I don't think she's going to like go all the way with these guys or anything. But it's just...

CROSS: You never know. You never know. It's ABC.

MCGRANE: And if she does, more power to her.

VAUSE: Yes, go girl.

MCGRANE: Way to go. You do what you (UNINTELLIGIBLE) did it.

(CROSSTALK) COSTELLO: What, so she uses protection?

CROSS: She should be a good girl.

MCGRANE: No.

CROSS: Don't do it. Don't do it.

MCGRANE: Do whatever you want, Trista.

VAUSE: Yes, leave her alone.

COSTELLO: Oh, right.

Kevin and Virginia, many thanks to you. I've learned a lot today about the younger generation.

CROSS: What, you're not that old. Carol, what are you talking about? You look, what, you're like 24. Come on.

VAUSE: There you go.

COSTELLO: How'd you guess?

CROSS: I'm right on it, aren't I?

VAUSE: He's on it.

COSTELLO: I love you, Kevin.

CROSS: I love you too, Kevin.

COSTELLO: You're my bachelor.

Bye, Kevin and Virginia.

It was fun.

VAUSE: See you guys.

So, what other ways can you meet people besides going on reality TV shows? We'll have some tips in Tell Me About It. It's a new DAYBREAK segment next hour. Carolyn Hax, advice columnist for the "Washington Post," will join us then.
