LEON HARRIS, CNN ANCHOR: Arraignment is expected today for a man accused of running a sex slave ring that randomly kidnapped girls and young women and forced them into prostitution.
Let's go across the country now to CNN's Jason Carroll, who's been following this story.

He's got more now on a news conference scheduled to come at the bottom of the hour.

Hello, Jason.

JASON CARROLL, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hello to you, Leon.

We do have some information about what the prosecutor plans on talking about during that press conference, which, as you said, is scheduled to begin in just a few moments. The prosecutor will talk announcing the charges that the suspect or suspects in this case will face. He'll also talk about who's been charged. We know that man by the name of Henry Davis from Chicago has been named as a suspect in this particular case. He's been charged with criminal sexual conduct, as well as kidnapping. He is the alleged ringleader of this forced- sex prostitution ring that was operated out of a home here in Detroit, as well as in two other states.

Investigators were able to crack the case earlier this week when a 17-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped and forced into prostitution escaped. Yesterday, her attorney talked about the impact and the magnitude of this particular case.

AVERY FRIEDMAN, ATTY.: Well, what happened, Connie, was that she was waiting for a bus to bring her home from work at the mall. She worked at one of the stores at the mall, and took the normal 35 bus on the way home.

When she didn't show up, her parents, who expected her to be home on time, actually started calling and leafletting the mall, trying to show pictures of -- to storekeepers to try to identify her. They also went to media, and when that didn't work, they basically started praying. Both of them are religious people. Her dad works for the church, and the break came through after this weekend, when they got the call from the Detroit Police Department.

(END VIDEO CLIP) CARROLL: That was her attorney talking about the circumstances surrounding her alleged abduction. Also, in this particular case, a 17-year-old boy was initially arrested, but he was later released. Officers in this case telling us that there is a possibility that this 17-year-old boy could be rearrested at a later time.

A representative from the prosecutor's office told me this morning that prosecutors worked late into the night trying to come up with specific charges. She said this is a case that is not as black and white as was once initially thought. Again, this press conference scheduled to begin in just a few moments -- Leon.

HARRIS: Good deal. Thanks, Jason. We'll get back to you when that gets under way all right. Stay warm out there.
