CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: It is time now, though, to check in with Travelocity's air traffic expert because when it's cold weather that means de-icing and it could mean airplane delays.
Rally Caparas has his "Eye on the Sky." He joins us live by phone with the rundown -- Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Carol, I'm live by phone and sitting next to the fire. I can't believe how cold it is outside.

Here's what's going to happen for you, folks.

Newark, LaGuardia and Philadelphia, arriving aircraft will see 30-minute arrival delays. That will expand later on in the afternoon to 45 minutes. Strong gusting winds will likely force single runway operations throughout the day there.

Pittsburgh and all of the airports on -- in western New York state, around Lake Erie, you'll see 30-minute arrival and departure delays. Low clouds, light snow from the lake effect stuff and de- icing all day. So beware of those short-term delays.

Charlotte, they're getting slammed by heavy winds, some heavy snow, freezing fog, you name it. It's going to cause 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Some of you will see 60-minute delays. We should see some clearing of those conditions by late afternoon, early evening.

Atlanta Hartsfield, we're seeing 40 naut (ph) winds right now. Thirty to 45-minute arrival delays as those strong gusting winds will reduce the airport's arrival handling capacity there through about the mid-afternoon hours.

Denver's airport way out west, they're seeing 30-minute arrival delays. Fog, mist, poor airport surface visibility, but that will be clearling by late morning hours.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, once again, 15 to 30-minute arrival and departure delays. Runway and taxiway construction will continue through February the 28th.

And finally, San Francisco International, once again the marine layer fog rolls in. Should be gone by noon Pacific Time equating to 30-minute arrival delays until the top of the midday hour.

That wraps it up this morning, Carol. I'll be back in the studio with you tomorrow morning with more from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky." Stay warm.

COSTELLO: I'm going to try. Thanks, as always, Rally Caparas, who has his "Eye on the Sky."
