FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: Well let's check in with Travelocity's air traffic expert, Rally Caparas, who has his "Eye on the Sky."
And these freeze warnings out there, how is that impacting air traffic?

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: I'll tell you what, Fredricka, it's bone chilling, to say the least, folks.

WHITFIELD: Yes.

CAPARAS: If you're flying into or out of the airports, especially up in the northeast, those strong gusting winds are going to create a little bit of a bumpy ride for you, but don't expect much as far as delays are concerned. From Boston all the way down to D.C., lots of wind. Dramamine, take some, it'll help you out. Keep your seatbelts fastened. There will be some delays later though. LaGuardia is very susceptible to this wind. You can expect a single runway operation later on in the afternoon and evening to the tune of 30 to 45-minute arrival delays. So expect it.

Cleveland and Pittsburgh and the Great Lakes region, you will see some departure flight de-icing and light snow off and on all day. Thirty-minute arrival and departure delays as a result.

Down in Phoenix, we've been telling you for about two weeks now ongoing runway and taxiway construction will create 15 to 30-minute arrival and departure delays. Slow pace in and out of that airport.

And then on the West Coast, San Francisco, they'll see some marine layer fog, very typical stuff for this time of the year, roll in about 9:00, rolls out about noon. And until then, you'll see 30- minute arrival delays.

Now listen up closely, folks, here's some very important information for you. Rule of thumb, if you are scheduling to travel in to or out of the major airports on the East Coast or the Gulf Coast between March the 1st and October 1, the severe weather season, plan to arrive or depart those major airports before 1:00 p.m. in the local time zone. Now conversely, if you're traveling to the West Coast, make sure you plan your scheduled arrival or departure time after 1:00 p.m. on the Pacific Time Zone coastline. That'll keep you from suffering major delays, cancellations. I promise you, you'll see the results and you'll thank us. You can only find that information out here right on CNN DAYBREAK at 6:15 in the morning. WHITFIELD: Hey, that is good advice. We're talking about because of the spawning of tornadoes and then hurricane season of course will be beginning too.

CAPARAS: Thunderstorm activity, you name it, you're going to miss all of that or most of it because it usually kicks in on the East and the Gulf in the afternoon hours,...

WHITFIELD: Yes.

CAPARAS: ... but the fog keeps things slow on the West Coast in the morning hours so.

WHITFIELD: That's good. So seldom do we think...

CAPARAS: Real good stuff.

WHITFIELD: ... about the actual time of travel during the day, so that's good advice.

CAPARAS: You got it.

WHITFIELD: All right. Thanks very much.

CAPARAS: You're welcome.
