CHAD MYERS, CNN METEOROLOGIST: Now standing in some snow, our Kathleen Koch from Washington, D.C.
How much have you measured now -- Kathleen?

KATHLEEN KOCH, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Well, Chad, we just did a double-check on our previous reading, and we've got a good six inches here. So, absolutely just, you know, verifying the numbers you've got there.

And it's really hard to believe that just four or five months ago, this area was suffering through its worst drought in a decade. We had water restrictions, people's wells were going dry, and everyone said what we need to pull us out of this is a very wet winter. Well, look out what you wish for, because we're getting it right now.

They say that here in the Washington, D.C. area, so far this winter we've gotten at least a foot of snow. And obviously today, they say we're going to add a good eight inches to that total.

Now, we've been showing some pictures of Baltimore today. You were just talking about it. And we checked in with Baltimore Washington International Airport. Now, they say all of their runways are open, but obviously they're going to be expecting some delays.

We don't know if the weather is going to be impacting NASA's briefing that's scheduled this morning, the shuttle briefing at 11:30 at NASA headquarters. We'll be checking on that a little bit later, because the federal government has a two-hour arrival delay this morning.

And one man, though, who doesn't have to worry about making his way to work through the snow is President Bush. Of course, he works at home from the White House, and ironically and perhaps appropriately, he is participating this morning in the swearing-in ceremony for the new Treasury secretary, who is wealthy industrialist and former head of the CSX rail line, John Snow.

Back to you -- Carol.

CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Oh, John Snow. And since he's wealthy, he probably has a big Hummer, so he can get through anything.

KOCH: You bet.

COSTELLO: Kathleen Koch, many thanks to you.
