CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Want to talk about air travel now because it's just going to be -- it's going to -- there are going to be many delays this morning. That's what I'm trying to say.
Want to check in with Travelocity's air traffic expert. Our "Eye on the Sky," Rally Caparas. He's live from Charleston, South Carolina this morning.

Get right to it -- Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Well, Carol, as we've been talking all morning, Chad's been showing you on the maps, lots of snow in the Northeast. States of emergency in I think six states now. It's going to be a long, long, long, long, long, long day for a lot of people that are mostly heading in to that region. Departing out of there, there'll be delays, but they won't be anything like what they're going to see for the inbound legs or destination points up in the North area.

Here's how it's going to break down for you, folks. If you're headed in to Boston's Logan, hopefully you're flying in to or out of that airport before noon or so, because if it's any later than that, you're going to see some massive delays kick in there also so enjoy it while it lasts. It's -- we say 60-minute arrival delays after noon, well it's probably going to be more like two to three hours. Stand by, we'll have more for you as the show develops.

New York City Metropolitan airports, two to three-hour arrival and departure delays, a very high level of cancellations. If you can imagine blowing snow when it's blizzard conditions, it's like a wall out there, you can't see. It's -- you're better off sitting in the airport waiting for things to happen to make it more safe.

Philadelphia Airport, two-hour arrival and departure delays are going to be the norm until late, late, late this evening. Hopefully by the evening rush we'll be able to get more airplanes in and out. But until then, mega delays.

Baltimore-Washington and Reagan National, they're closed. They're not even scheduled to open until noon and that might be optimistic. But there is a break in the action coming so they will be able to get some airplanes in and out of there. Dulles, just to the west of them, has two runways that they're operating on. They clean one, they take off on it, then they close it and then they clean the other one. So it's going to be a swap thing, very slow going there.

And then Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati in the -- in the Great Lakes region, you'll see lengthy delays there also but nothing like you're going to see on the Eastern seaboard and mid-Atlantic states. The rest of the country looks great.

I'll be back as things develop throughout the show. Back to you, Carol, in the studios.

COSTELLO: It's a stressful day, isn't it?

Rally Caparas, many thanks to you.
