CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Dozens of detectives searched the house of Scott and Laci Peterson. They're still looking for clues as to Laci's whereabouts nearly two months after she disappeared. Police say husband Scott is not a suspect, but he hasn't been ruled out, either.
Our Rusty Dornin has more from Modesto, California.

RUSTY DORNIN, CNN CORRESPONDENT: For the second time since Laci Peterson's disappearance on Christmas Eve, Modesto police detectives knocked on Scott Peterson's door armed with a search warrant. Apparently, they said, Scott Peterson was very cooperative. He stayed around the house for about an hour and a half before he left, taking with him some personal belongings and work related items.

They did, however, impound a brand new truck that Scott Peterson purchased about two weeks ago, along with about 40 bags of evidence taken from inside the house. We do know that one of them was, a couple of them were labeled phone books and address books, things like that, put in grocery bags. They were all put inside an evidence van.

But it looks like police did not finish up and they will be back for another look and Scott Peterson will have to find another place to sleep.

DOUG RIDENOUR, MODESTO POLICE DEPARTMENT: The status of the house is that we, the police department, will maintain control, pursuant to the search warrant, of the home. We will not release it back to Scott until they're finished tomorrow with searching. They're finished today. Detectives have been here all day. It's time for them to go back and finish their reports for today and then get some sleep and rest and come back tomorrow.

DORNIN: About midway through the search, Amy Rocha, Laci Peterson's sister, came with investigators in the house, spent about an hour and a half inside the house. Now, Amy Rocha was one of the last people to see Laci Peterson because the two of them came into the shop and Amy Rocha cut Scott Peterson's hair the day before her sister disappeared.

One of the big unanswered questions in the search warrant is why did police seize a truck that Scott Peterson bought five weeks after his wife's disappearance? So still lots of unanswered questions. Police are still saying the same line, that he is not a suspect, but that he has not been eliminated from the investigation. Rusty Dornin, CNN, Modesto, California.
