CAROL LIN, CNN ANCHOR: First to New York. Up at Madison Square Garden, the red carpet and funky fashions are rolling out right now. And people are talking more about the art of rock 'n' roll than the art of war, at least so far. CNN's Arthel Neville is there. Hey, Arthel, you are looking great.
ARTHEL NEVILLE, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Hi, Carol, thank you very much. It's so good to be here. I have Brian McKnight here, definitely a veteran. Not a surprise to the Grammy awards, no stranger, I should say, and tonight you're up for, let me see, best R&B performance by a duo group for "All the Way" with Kenny G.
BRIAN MCKNIGHT, SINGER: Right. It's great, a song I wrote that I put on this album with Kenny that we did together. I had no idea. I really came initially just to come, because it's in New York. It's not here every year. And they are like, you know, you're nominated. And I was like -- because I was actually out of the country when the nominations came down. So it's just like, OK, another nomination. Fantastic. It's like 24 or something?
NEVILLE: Yes, I think about 25, 26. Good for you. But who are you? What are you looking forward to most about tonight?
MCKNIGHT: Lenny.
NEVILLE: Lenny Kravitz.
MCKNIGHT: Lenny, to see Lenny do his thing. It's not every day you get to see him really get down. But you know, every year it's a different group of people, it's a different group of nominees. There is always the Clive Davis party, which was fantastic last night. Should have been there.
NEVILLE: We were there. We are going to show it later.
MCKNIGHT: I am talking about those people out there who are watching.
NEVILLE: Oh, yes. Sorry you missed it.
MCKNIGHT: But it's great. It's great to be a part of it. It's great that after all this time, to still be here and doing this.
NEVILLE: Absolutely. Well, keep on doing it. Brian McKnight. Thank you. So great to see you. Nice to see you. And Carol, listen, I know -- I want to tell you that earlier, I have seen so many people here so far. I've seen Bonnie Raitt, Gwen Stefani and Adrien (ph) from No Doubt. Lots of fashion, lots of funkiness. Kim Cattrall, I think she's going to get the outfit of the evening so far, wearing a beautiful Michael Koors (ph) see-through like shindig -- I'm not quite sure what it was. But she looked amazing, as she always does.
But I think everything is going to go off without a hitch tonight.
LIN: All right, we'll look forward to that. Hey, Arthel, what happened to the green feather boa?
NEVILLE: You know, actually I put in a call to my mom and to my husband and they both said, take it off. So they rule. What can I say?
LIN: Well, Anderson Cooper told me that he had one just like it. So we were hoping you'd keep it on.
NEVILLE: I bet he does. Tell Anderson, he can borrow -- I have one in pink as well if he would like to borrow it. He can.
LIN: Well, there you go. Thanks, Arthel. Looking forward to your reporting tonight.
NEVILLE: All right, Carol.
