FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: Well Travelocity's air traffic expert Rally Caparas who has his "Eye on the Sky" is here with us right now. And a lot of problems out there or the usual?
RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Well, Fredricka, we don't see a whole lot of problems at this moment.

WHITFIELD: OK, good.

CAPARAS: But as we get through the day, we'll start to see things develop a little bit more and a little bit more. Let's talk about it.

I'm seeing about 550 airplanes talking to air traffic control in the nation's skies at this very moment. And any moment now, we'll start to see some delays up in to the Great Lakes region, but first, the northeast.

From -- well, actually, Newark, LaGuardia and JFK airports at this very moment are delay free. And it'll stay that way until later on this afternoon and evening when you'll start to see 30-minute arrival delays during the evening hours because of low clouds and, sorry to say it, but snow is moving back in to the area. Shouldn't be any major event, but you will still see related delays because of that.

Philadelphia and all points south of there and all airports in between will see delay-free conditions throughout the entire day so good news for the East Coasters outside of the northeast.

Up in the Great Lakes region at Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati-Covington airports, you'll see 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays for most of the day as snow and departure flight de-icing are problems there. It's going to stick around well into the evening hours.

At Chicago O'Hare Airport, the Windy City, they're seeing some more wind. They're going to be forced into a less-than-favorable runway configuration today. The wind's out of the northwest. It reduces the rate below 80 per hour aircraft arrival into that airport and so you'll have some 30 to 45-minute arrival delays for most of the day there.

And then finally out west, the airport of any concern, typical, San Francisco International. They'll see some low clouds and some rain move into the area in the evening -- I'm sorry, afternoon and evening hours. It's going to create 30 to 45-minute arrival delays. But overall, not a real bad day for air travel -- Fredricka.

WHITFIELD: All right, well just when all the airports and the airlines were trying to get back to some normalcy.

CAPARAS: Right, yes, they'll -- it'll be a good catch up day for them.

WHITFIELD: There's still some potential, though,...

CAPARAS: That's right.

WHITFIELD: ... unfortunately. All right. Well thanks a lot -- Rally.

CAPARAS: Sure.
