FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: Well with the Senate getting back to business today, we wanted to wake up our Capitol Hill producer, Ted Barrett, and he joins us on the phone from Washington.
And, Ted, other than Iraq, what are the top priorities for the Senate to address today?

TED BARRETT, CNN PRODUCER: Well, good morning, Fredricka.

You know with the nation on the brink of war, you might expect that when Congress returns today there'd be a lot of passionate debate over the issue. But if you look at the floor schedules for the House and Senate, you might not even realize the country is nearing a war.

In the House, the big vote this week involves banning human cloning. And in the Senate, they continue their battle over President Bush's judicial nominee, Miguel Estrada. The Senate will also today carve out time for a child pornography bill and for its annual reading of the -- of George Washington's Farewell Address. Next week, medical malpractice and the budget will be center stage.

Now Iraq will be on lawmaker's minds this week, whether they like it or not. On Wednesday, peace activists are planning to slug Capitol Hill with phone calls and faxes urging the U.S. not to go to war. That effort is being led by Martin Sheen and other peace activists from Hollywood -- Fredricka.

WHITFIELD: All right, Ted, good talking to you. Thank you.
