PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: Breaking news out of Israel this morning in the northern part of that country, reports of a bombing, at least according to Israel Radio. An explosion rocked a bus in the Israeli port city of Haifa, apparently at the entrance to a neighborhood called Carmeliya.
There are reports from Israeli police that there have been casualties. And Israeli radio reporter on the scene says he has seen several corpses, but police have not confirmed any deaths.

Apparently the explosion went off on a bus on the main street, which enters this neighborhood called Carmeliya.

The Israeli Radio reporter on the scene described a huge column of smoke rising from the bus wreckage -- quote -- "It is terrible what you can see from here."

We are still waiting official confirmation from Israeli officials to see what we're looking at here. As soon as we have more information available, we will bring it to you.
