CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Well March is proving to be a rough month for air travel, so before you leave to catch your flight, we want to check in with Travelocity's air traffic expert, Rally Caparas, our "Eye on the Sky."
Good morning --Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol.

Well, if you're living on the East Coast, you can tell that it's almost time for severe weather season. Up in the Northeast today, if you're flying into or out of the major airports, Boston, the New York City Metropolitan area or Philadelphia, you will see, beginning later on this morning, right around 9:00 Eastern, 45-minute arrival and departure delays. There'll be snow, ice, departure flight de-icing, poor airport surface visibility, but all of this should improve right around 4:00 in the p.m. hours so the evening rush may have on time schedules.

The D.C. Metros, they'll see 30-minute arrival delays because of low clouds, rain and fog, poor visibility, of course, but that should also improve by the mid-afternoon hours.

Detroit, Cleveland and Pittsburgh, and it looks like Detroit may be out of the woods already, the storm is moving quickly, 30-minute arrival and departure delays are likely. Snow, de-icing, poor visibility, but there again, it should be gone by the early afternoon hours.

Charlotte and Atlanta, I'll tell you what, it was hard to sleep last night. We had more noise around here than I've heard in a long time. It's like the middle of August. Thirty to 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Thunderstorm activity, as you hear, rain, reduced airport surface visibility and this will improve in the early afternoon hours also so the evening looks pretty good.

Out West, San Francisco is the only airport with any concerns, 30-minute arrival delays due to low clouds and marine layer fog and it should be gone by noon Pacific Time.

The rest of the country looks good. Be patient in the East, it should be gone by the -- by the early evening hours. I'll be back in a half hour with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky."

Carol, back to you.

COSTELLO: All right. Thanks for bringing us up to date. Rally Caparas, our "Eye on the Sky."
