CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: What is happening in Iraq today? Let's go to the center of the controversy, Baghdad, and Rym Brahimi.
Good morning -- Rym.

RYM BRAHIMI, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Carol.

Well, we just heard a short while ago from the Iraqi foreign ministry. The foreign minister of Iraq has written a letter to the secretary-general of the United Nations complaining that holes have been made in a fence in the demilitarized zone between Iraq and Kuwait. Now, those holes were reported by the United Nations observation mission that patrols that demilitarized zone.

The Iraqi foreign minister also complaining to the United Nations that the U.S. has been dropping leaflets over southern Iraq, calling on Iraqi soldiers to surrender when the U.S. takes over a port in the south of the country, saying this is a violation, according to Iraq, of the United Nations charter.

Now, we also heard from the foreign ministry confirming that an Iraqi diplomatic has been expelled from Australia. The foreign ministry is denouncing what it says are U.S. attempts to push 60 countries to expel diplomats. It says that among those countries, Romania, Austria and Belgium, have been asked by the U.S. to expel diplomats. Those countries have not responded so far.

And of course, missiles are still being destroyed. Another six are being destroyed today, Carol. That would take the number of totally destroyed missiles up to 52 -- Carol.

COSTELLO: Understand. Rym Brahimi, thanks for the update live out of Baghdad this morning.
