MILES O'BRIEN, CNN ANCHOR: Some breaking news to tell you about. A crash of an Army Black Hawk helicopter near Fort Drum in upstate New York -- those of you who are familiar with Fort Drum know it is home to the 10th Mountain Division, a very storied division of the U.S. Army. Very instrumental in the Afghanistan conflict. And this Blackhawk helicopter apparently crashed with 15 servicemen and/or women on board, a capacity of about 12 combat troops.
That's why that 15, I'm a little skeptical about it. It would have been at or above perhaps capacity if there were 15 people on board. The range of about 368 miles.

It is a workhorse of the U.S. Army. Modifications of it are used by the Air Force as well, by special forces. It is the way the troops are moved around and also equipment as well by the military.

Fort Drum is near the shores of Lake Ontario in upstate New York. There you see a medivac version of the Black Hawk. As we say, with 15 people on board, that would be very close to its capacity.

We're watch this very closely. We don't have any word on any casualties at this juncture. Just a little while ago, we were told it went missing. The Associated Press is reporting that in fact this Black Hawk helicopter involved in a training mission near Fort Drum has crashed. We will be watching that one closely for you.
