PAULA ZAHN, CNN ANCHOR: Richard Ricci was considered a possible suspect in Elizabeth's disappearance. Richard died last August. And with the arrest of drifter Brian David Mitchell, new questions are being raised in this case.
Joining us right now from Salt Lake City, Angela Ricci, widow of Richard Ricci, and David Smith, the attorney for Richard Ricci.

Good morning to both of you. Thanks for joining us.

Angela, your reaction to what unfolded yesterday.

ANGELA RICCI, WIDOW OF RICHARD RICCI: I was shocked and excited, and Just a lot of emotions running through, and extremely grateful that she is home, safe and well.

ZAHN: What does this mean to your family? Does this mean your husband is now indicated?

RICCI: I hope so. That's my hope. I've always believed in Rick. I've always stood by him. And I will continue to do so.

ZAHN: Have you had any conversations with police since this big development yesterday?

RICCI: No. I haven't heard anything.

ZAHN: David, what will be your next move?

DAVID SMITH, ATTY. FOR RICHARD RICCI: We'll wait and see. It's important that the family celebrate and we celebrate with them, and we rejoice in her return.

ZAHN: Do you think Richard Ricci's name will ever be clear?

SMITH: I think so, yes.

ZAHN: The police chief has asked some pretty pointed question about that yesterday and still defended the track he took in looking at Mr. Ricci as a possible suspect. Your reaction to that.

SMITH: I can't speak for them. I think they're just being cautious. But I think he will be cleared now.

ZAHN: Finally, Angela, do you have any message for the smart family this morning?

RICCI: Congratulations. And enjoy every moment, each day.

ZAHN: And we appreciate both of you spending time with us this morning,

Angela Ricci and David Smith, thank you very much for your time.

RICCI: Thank you.
