CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: ... from Hong Kong with an update. Good morning.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Carol, doctors, or some doctors anyway, had been saying that all along the people who were dying of SARS were people who were elderly or they were people who had chronic conditions. We now know that that may not be true.

Let me give you some of the latest figures that we have on deaths and on infections. China has -- is recording 64 deaths at this time, 1,383 people infected. Hong Kong, 40 deaths and 1,150 infections.

Now over the weekend, six out of eight people who died over the weekend here in Hong Kong, those victims were described as healthy, people who did not have chronic conditions. They were in their 40s or in their early 50s.

Canada, 13 deaths, 101 people infected. Those figures from the World Health Organization. Canadian authorities say the figures may actually be higher than that, higher than 200 in fact.

Singapore, 10 deaths, 151 people infected. Vietnam, 5 deaths and 63 people infected -- Carol.

COSTELLO: Thanks for bringing us up to date live from Hong Kong this morning.
