(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

7:29 p.m., Monday, Eastern Time, U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell says the United States will work to track down objects looted from Iraqi museums and help restore damaged pieces.

12:16 a.m. Eastern Time, 8:16 a.m. in Iraq, Matthew Fisher, a reporter with Canada's "National Post" embedded with the Marines, reports from inside the huge presidential palace in Tikrit. He says the city is extremely quiet and he thinks it's because citizens are intimidated by the large U.S. military presence.

12:40 a.m., Richard Murphy, a former U.S. ambassador to Syria, tells CNN he is convinced that Damascus has provided a haven for the Iraqi regime who have fled the country.

1:23 a.m., CNN's Michael Holmes reports from Baghdad that U.S. Marines raided some rooms on the top floor of the Palestine Hotel where many journalists are staying. Three people, believed to be Iraqis, were taken away in handcuffs.

1:37 a.m., British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw tells reporters in Doha, Qatar that Syria now has the opportunity to prove it is not a rogue nation as the U.S. has charged.
