KYRA PHILLIPS, CNN ANCHOR: 3:06 a.m. Eastern Time, 11:06 in Iraq: CNN's Michael Holmes reports from Baghdad that some shops in cafes are opening this morning for the first time since the war began. He reports no major fighting in the city overnight, just isolated small arms fire. Baghdad citizens held another demonstration this morning to protest the fact that they're still without electricity and telephone service.

3:49 a.m.: CNN's Ben Wedeman reports from Mosul that U.S. helicopters are circling overhead. He said tensions are high in the northern city since a clash yesterday between Marines and Iraqis that left at least seven people dead.

5:18 a.m.: The Italian justice minister says he'll ask for the extradition of terrorist Abu Abbas, arrested by U.S. special forces in Baghdad Monday night. Abbas was convicted in absentia of murder for the 1985 hijacking of the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro.
