CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: More nasty weather on tap for parts of the Midwest. So, Rally Caparas is here with his "Eye on the Sky." And we're going to need it today.
RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAVEL SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Yes, we are. It's a terrible, terrible day to fly today, folks. You're going to see a lot of weather out there, as Chad's been showing you. Last night, it was awful for everybody, and today it's going to continue.

If you're in the Northeast today, anywhere along the East Coast, from New York City to Atlanta, you'll be on time early, but that won't last long. One-hour delays are likely this afternoon and evening. En route thunderstorms are going to block routes everywhere. Even if you don't see the weather at your airport proper, you can count on some delays there.

Now specifically, Newark's airport, they're going to see one to two-hour delays all day long regardless of the -- of the weather because of a transition to a new air traffic control operational procedure. There it's two-hour delays yesterday. It'll likely reach two to three hours if the weather gets involved with their equation, which is likely, you could see a lot longer delays, folks, so be patient.

Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati-Covington and the Great Lakes region, you can expect 45 to 60-minute arrival and departure delays for most of the day there also. Low clouds, that should be actually rain early, and then thunderstorm activity is going to kick up this afternoon and evening.

Indianapolis, Memphis and Nashville, smaller airports operationally, but they'll still see 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays, heavy rain, poor visibility, widespread thunderstorm activity throughout the Ohio Valley region.

Chicago O'Hare and St. Louis, they're seeing the last of the heavy stuff, but because of the stuff to the east, the severe weather and the poor visibility, low clouds, et cetera, 45 to 60-minute arrival and departure delays. Limited flight routes because of those thunderstorms.

Late afternoon and evening travel into the Northeast in general, folks, is going to be a tough one so lots of coffee, crossword puzzles, make a lot of friends.

The western half of the country, again, it looks fantastic unless you're flying in to the Northeast. I'll be back tomorrow morning with hopefully better news from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky" -- Carol.

COSTELLO: I hope so. I like it when you say make a lot of friends in the airport, because usually if you get a flight delay makes -- puts me in a very nasty mood.

CAPARAS: Everybody.

COSTELLO: Yes, exactly.

CAPARAS: Everybody.

COSTELLO: Thank you -- Rally.

CAPARAS: Sure.
