CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Not a bad day for flying or is it? Before you head out for the airport, let's check in with Travelocity's air traffic expert. Rally Caparas on the line right now.
Good morning -- Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol.

Well, to answer your question, it is great to fly today if you're in the west. But today in the east, it's going to be kind of a difficult travel day. Orleon has been showing us some weather, and here's how things going -- things are going to affect you today.

Boston and the New York City Metropolitan areas, you will see some pretty decent weather, but delay conditions will kick in later on this afternoon. Thirty to 45-minute arrival and departure delays during the afternoon and evening hours because of en route thunderstorms to the south and to the west. So keep in mind, despite the weather conditions at your local airport, you may still see delays because of en route weather.

Philadelphia and the D.C. Metros, they are delay free right now, but they will suffer the worst from that weather. It's going to be in that region later on this afternoon and evening. Forty-five to 60- minute arrival and departure delays, low clouds, rain and thunderstorms will be limiting flight routes into the region.

Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati-Covington airports in the Great Lakes region, they'll see 30 to 45-minute arrival delays, some low clouds, rain and then thunderstorms. Orleon told you, Cincinnati had some thunderstorm activity earlier and it's still rolling through the area.

Atlanta Hartsfield, despite just some dreary conditions for most of the day, there will be isolated thunderstorms creating 45 to 60- minute arrival and departure delays in the local area. Some low clouds and rain will slow things down at the airport proper also.

Dallas Fort-Worth and Houston in Texas, 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Even though the weather may not be bad at the airports, like we said in New York, easterly routes will be limited as en route thunderstorms to the east will block flight routes into and out of that area.

And then finally Denver Airport this morning, they're delay free. However, later on this evening we will see thunderstorms block routes there to the tune of 45 to 60-minute arrival and departure delays.

The rest of the west looks pretty good.

I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky." Carol, back to you.

COSTELLO: All right, we look forward to it. Thanks a lot, Rally.
