CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Back on earth, it's time to check in with Travelocity's air traffic expert. Rally Caparas has his "Eye on the Sky" talking flight delays or not.
Good morning -- Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol, and good morning, folks. It looks like it's going to be a rough day for travel up in the northeast.

The New York City Metros and Philadelphia airports, you'll see some low clouds, rain, but mostly strong winds are going to cause the delays up in that region today, 45 to 60-minute arrival delays. And then some departure delays are likely, also as a result of en route thunderstorm activity this afternoon and evening. So be ware up there. Delays could get tough on a very busy travel day which is Friday today.

D.C. Metros, you'll see 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays, low clouds and rain and then thunderstorm activity en route limiting routes into and out of those major airports.

Atlanta and Charlotte, this morning it'll be low clouds and fog creating 45-minute arrival delays. And then later on this afternoon and evening, Atlanta Hartsfield, you'll have some blocked routes because of en route thunderstorm activity, which will keep those delays going for you.

Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati-Covington airports up in the Great Lakes region, you can expect 30 to 45-minute arrival delays. Low clouds, rain and then some p.m. thunderstorm activity will be blocking routes into and out of those major airports in the Great Lakes.

And then St. Louis, you're delay free for most of the day. Then late evening, you'll start to see 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Thunderstorm activity will be limiting routes, especially if you're headed or arriving from the west.

And then Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, where I am today, I'll be suffering about an hour delay. There's thunderstorm activity rolling through the area right now. I'm looking out the window and I'm seeing lightning everywhere. It's limited routes and poor visibility the problem and hour-long delays.

The rest of the country to the west looks pretty good. Should have on-time schedules for most of, if not, the entire day. I'll be back on Monday morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky." Carol, back to you.

COSTELLO: Thanks, Rally. And as you always say, you can make some friends in the airport today with those delays. Thanks, Rally.
