CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: We have been talking about the terror alert status and how it's been elevated. Will that, coupled with the weather, affect your travel plans today?
Rally Caparas is here to tell us.

RALLY CAPARAS, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Well, I'll tell you, Carol, the elevated alert status definitely will affect your travel, especially if you're going through a security situation you will see a reinstatement of the secondary security checks that they're going to offer you when you get to the gate now. They had relaxed that situation. They haven't been checking people secondarily once you get to the gate. Well, they're going to reinstate that.

The people that really have to watch out for the elevated status are the general aviation pilots. No longer will you have just free will to fly 500 feet above the populated areas and restricted areas. You're going to have to stay miles away from that now. So, keep that in mind. It will add some extra time onto your flight routes, general aviation, business travelers, charter jets, that kind of thing.

But delays today, here's what's happening. Boston, New York and Philadelphia, you'll see 30 minute arrival delays this morning. Low clouds and rain, but it will clear later on this afternoon and evening for on-time schedules during the evening rush, so good news there.

The D.C. Metros, they are delay-free right now, and it will stay that way until the mid-afternoon hours. Then you'll start to see 30 minute arrival delays, because of low clouds and rain. Obscured visibility will slow things down somewhat.

Atlanta Hartsfield today, we're going to see what we saw yesterday: low clouds, rain, fog, an isolated thunderstorm or two blocking routes this afternoon and evening. That means 30 minute arrival and departure delays throughout the entire day once again.

Tampa, Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale down in the state of Florida, you will, once again, and probably continue to see throughout the rest of the summertime, afternoon and evening thunderstorm activity create 30 to 45 minute arrival and departure delays as you sit at the airport or in the sky, as you wait for a thunderstorm or two to pass through the terminal areas.

Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston in Texas, early today you will see some low clouds, an isolated thunderstorm or two create 30 minute arrival and departure delays, but that will clear also by the evening rush for on-time schedules. The rest of the West, Jacqui told you there is some fog out there in LAX, but before the volume can get there, it will burn off. On- time schedules all day long.

I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky" -- Carol.

COSTELLO: We look forward to it, we think.

CAPARAS: Thanks.

COSTELLO: Thank you, Rally.
