CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Well, here's a doggone happy ending to a story we told you about earlier this week. Reporter Sky Arnold of our affiliate KWCH in Wichita, Kansas has more on the story of Norman.
(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Yell at him.

UNIDENTIFIED CHILD: Norman!

SKY ARNOLD, KWCH CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): In a few seconds, you're going to see a happy reunion to one heck of a story. For seven weeks, this beagle named Norman was missing and, to be honest, thought never to return. But through means we still don't know for sure, he made it all the way to Alabama. Now he's finally coming home.

(on camera): Of course, Norman wouldn't be here today if it weren't for this golden dog tag. As you can see, he's still wearing it even after a couple of thousand miles. It says he's from Solomon, Kansas and it has his pet license number. Well, it was because of that dog tag the people who found him were able to reunite him.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Norman!

ARNOLD: So, here's that homecoming we were promising.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Hey.

UNIDENTIFIED CHILD: Here he comes.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Hey, you, where have you been? Where have you been, huh?

ARNOLD: That's Norman's family, Kim and Jennifer Cross, along with their two daughters, Lauren and Chelynn (ph).

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: He looks the same.

ARNOLD: A retired couple who just happened to be heading to El Dorado volunteered to give Norman a lift back to Kansas.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Norman left his mark in five out of six states yesterday.

ARNOLD: Well, in a way, Norman left his mark in more ways than just that one. UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Everybody's crying.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Yes.

ARNOLD: His is a story of happy endings. The world doesn't have enough of them.

In El Dorado, Sky Arnold, KWCH-12, out with this news.
