CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Well hopefully you've already flown to wherever you were going this Memorial Day weekend. But if you haven't, stick around because we're going to check in with Travelocity's air traffic expert. Rally Caparas is on the line.
Nasty weather in the northeast -- Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol.

Well, yes, you're exactly right. If they are flying, then they're probably already where they're at. But guess what, they have to make it back home. So today is one of those get home days, today and tomorrow, and here's what's happening for you, folks.

In the northeast, as Carol just said, it's nasty. It's basically a washout. And at New York City Metropolitan airports and Philadelphia, you can expect 30 to 45-minute arrival delays, low clouds, some very heavy rain at times, some fog and poor airport surface visibility. Good thing, no thunderstorm activity expected, but the weather will still create moderate to lengthy delays there.

D.C. Metros and Charlotte, you'll see 30-minute arrival delays. Low clouds, rain and fog, poor surface visibility early, but improving in the p.m. hours.

Atlanta Hartsfield, they'll see similar conditions without the rain. It'll be low clouds and fog, reduced visibility early with improved conditions later on this afternoon and evening. But until then, 30-minute arrival delays.

Cincinnati-Covington, they've got almost zero visibility right now, about an eighth of a mile. That means 30 to 45-minute arrival delays this morning, but that dense fog should burn off by late morning hours.

Houston's George Bush, they're delay free right now; but 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays expected this afternoon and evening as low clouds and thunderstorm activity build and limit flight routes into that major airport.

And then on the West Coast, San Francisco International, the only airport with any concerns today, 30-minute arrival delays. Low clouds, marine layer fog, but there again it'll burn off by noon Pacific Time for good conditions and on-time schedules during the evening rush.

That'll wrap it up for me today, Carol. Happy Memorial Day to all of you, folks.

COSTELLO: All right, thank you. Rally Caparas, we'll check back with you tomorrow.
