CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Are you flying this morning? Well, it's time to check in with our "Eye on the Sky," Rally Caparas here to talk about flight delays. Or are there delays this morning.
RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC EXPERT, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Of course. There always are flight delays, if I want to stay employed, that is.

You've seen the news about the cargo airplane landing at JFK this morning. It shouldn't cause you any problems, folks. It's going to be one of those situations where everything worked perfectly. They designed those overrun areas to collapse, just as it did. They designed it perfectly obviously, because it absorbed the momentum. Everybody is safe. It's not going to affect anyone. The flights will be on time still.

There's only an average of 10 airplanes landing there an hour until about noon. There won't be any problems. The wind is perfectly fine, lined up with the runways, no delays at JFK.

And that goes for the rest of the East Coast, except for this morning. There are some low clouds and some poor visibility issues this morning because of -- well, at the D.C. Metro airports. If you didn't see it at Reagan, as Chad showed you on the shot, but there are still some mist in the air. It could create 30 minute arrival delays until about 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. After that, on-time schedules with beautiful skies for Carol to get to Boston, and she'll see the ground from the time she takes off until the time she lands.

Other places where there are some concerns, Chicago O'Hare and St. Louis airports today -- I'm sorry, let's go to Cleveland and Detroit. Delay-free early, but 30 to 45 minute arrival delays and departure delays, and there will be low clouds and thunderstorm activity blocking routes there.

Chicago O'Hare and St. Louis, the same situation, a little longer delays, 45 to 60 minute arrival and departure delays likely, low clouds, rain and thunderstorms and, like I said, limited routes is the primary reason.

Cincinnati, Covington, 30 to 45 minute arrival delays this morning because of low clouds and some fog. The rain should be in the p.m. hours, and that will be thunderstorms, also limited flight routes into that major airport, creating delays.

Denver delay-free for most of the day, later on this afternoon and evening low clouds, thunderstorm activity limiting flight routes into and out of that airport, 30 to 45 minute arrival and departure delays there.

And then San Francisco and Los Angeles on the West Coast, low clouds, marine layer fog rolls in. It sticks around until the early p.m. hours today. You can expect those 30 to 45 minute arrival delays until around 2:00.

I'll be back on Monday morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky," Carol. Have a great trip.

COSTELLO: You, too. Thank you, I will. Thank you, Rally.
