CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Flying to paradise this morning? A convention? Well, stay right there for just a minute. Travelocity's air traffic expert, Rally Caparas, has his "Eye on the Sky." He's live on the line with us right now.
Good morning -- Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol.

Talk about having a hard time getting out of bed this morning, the cloudy, dreary conditions. We're going to have a lot of that in the East today; fortunately it will end once we get past lunchtime for most of us.

But here's how things are going to break down for you. If you're headed into or out of the New York City metropolitan airports, Philadelphia, the D.C. metropolitan area and Charlotte today, you'll be delay-free to start the day, but 45 minute arrival and departure delays are likely this afternoon and evening. Low clouds and thunderstorms are going to be blocking some routes, and it's going to make travel throughout the East pretty difficult.

Atlanta Hartsfield falls in that category, 45 minute arrival and departure delays. That's going to start a little earlier in the day. Low clouds and rain, poor visibility are already upon us here in Georgia, and then afternoon and evening thunderstorms will limit flight routes into and out of Hartsfield, so beware.

Tampa, Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale delay-free right now and it will stay that way until the afternoon hours. Then 30 to 45 minute arrival and departure delays will ensue as seasonal thunderstorms kick up again.

Cincinnati Covington airport, 30 to 45 minute arrival delays are likely throughout the day, low clouds, rain, poor visibility, and then they will also have thunderstorms blocking routes at that airport later on this evening.

Saint Louis, Lambert and Memphis airports in the Central U.S., they'll see 30 to 45 minute arrival delays because of low clouds, fog, poor visibility, but their conditions will improve as will their schedules as the day moves into the p.m. hours.

And then finally, Dallas/Fort Worth airport, they'll have some weather to the northwest of them, and it will creep into Dallas off and on throughout the day, heavy thunderstorms to the northwest, tactical re-routes, some severe weather avoidance programs from the FAA will create 30 to 45 minute arrival and departure delays throughout the day.

The Western half looks beautiful once again.

I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky," Carol. Have a great day.

COSTELLO: And you too. Many thanks, Rally.
