BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Here in New York, the book is out. Hillary Clinton's book is out. Last night, she had a national interview played out on ABC with Barbara Walters. Today, she's at a book signing.
Here's Jonathan Karl, who's made the trip to New York City.
Jonathan, good morning.
JONATHAN KARL, CNN CORRESPONDENT: Good morning, Bill.
Yes it is out. The book actually went on sale last night at selected book stores. They started selling it just as the clock struck midnight. Simon & Schuster of course kept a very tight embargo on this book, not letting anyone get ahold of it. In advance, of course a copy did get out last week. So much of the real news value of this book has already been reported. But there's been a long line here already at the Barnes & Noble on 48th and Fifth Street in Manhattan, Fifth Avenue on Manhattan. This is where Hillary Clinton will be signing 250 copies of the book.
John, you're online. Why the fascination with Hillary Clinton?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Well, for me, it's a business. I have an autograph signing service. And New York is a book-signing capital of the planet, so.
KARL: OK, now what will an autographed copy of this book be worth immediately?
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: It's hard to say, since there have been no advance copies and haven't been any signings anywhere else, but I would guess $100, $150 right off the bat.
KARL: All right, there's a business opportunity. You spend about $30 on the book, and you make $150.
Good luck, John.
Let's go down and talk to some others who are here, Bill.
Hello, ma'am.
Hillary Clinton -- what do you expect to learn in this book?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Oh, from the book, I expect to learn she's a very strong, very compassionate, very loving wife, who stands by her man. And I'm a little worried.
KARL: A little worried?
Let me ask you one question.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: A little worried.
KARL: Do you think that people will believe she didn't know anything about the Monica Lewinsky relationship until just two days before the rest of the world did?
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: No, she had to know. Anybody that lives with a man for as long as Hillary does, as long as I've been married, same idea, you have to have some inkling that something is going on, and she's telling the world, and I am very enamored of Hillary, because she's an Eleanor Roosevelt fan, of which I am, too, and she to have had some notion.
KARL: OK, great. Thank you very much. You get two copies. Every person in this line can get two autographed copies. So, Bill, perhaps one to keep and read and the other to put up on eBay. There have been several people here this morning saying they're here as an investment, they will be selling their books.
HEMMER: She's going to be there today, right, for how long?
KARL: She's going to be here long enough to sign 250 books, and she's going to have a very short press conference, we're told, right before she actually starts signing them at 11:00. She's not here yet. She's supposed to be here about 10:30.
HEMMER: Got it. Jonathan, thanks.
