ANDERSON COOPER, ANCHOR: Staying in Britain, the royal family has released brand new photographs of young Prince Harry. They offer a glimpse into his private lifestyle at Eton College, where the 18- year-old will take his final exams on Thursday.
ITN's Tom Bradley reports.

TOM BRADLEY, ITN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): the deal with William and Harry ALWAYS WAS that they would make themselves available if the media left them alone to grow up in private.

But these latest set of pictures do show a growing confidence.

Harry and William are close and competitive. These photographs look like Harry's attempt to knock his brother off the number one pinup slot.

It certainly is the end of an era at Eton and at the palace, a chance to show a few different sides to Prince Harry. Like his brother, he does have a good sense of humor, but what's perhaps most notable about these photographs is the art on display. Harry is studying A-level art but these works have impressed critics. The career may be beyond the Army, which he's almost certain to join after leaving.

This was his final parade in the cadet force here and he's likely to join either the Welsh guards or the Girkers (ph).

The other photograph that has attracted attention is this one of his study with its poster of a half naked Caprice, and another of an indie rock station. It reflects the preoccupations of most teenagers. Only the picture of his late mother is a reminder of what an extraordinary life his has, in many ways, already been.

Whatever comes next, it is certainly true to say that Harry and William are extremely popular with the officials they work with. And a new generation of royals is definitely emerging into the public domain and making its presence felt.

Tom Bradley, ITV News.

COOPER: As that report points out, Princess Diana's children rarely let the press into their lives, partly because of the circumstances surrounding their mother's death.
