CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Heading to the airport this morning, it's time to check in with Travelocity's air traffic expert. Rally Caparas has his "Eye on the Sky." He's live on the line with us right now.
Morning -- Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol.

Well how about I start out the morning with a little bit of good news for a change for the people in the east. From Boston all the way down to Atlanta Hartsfield Airport today you're going to see excellent flight conditions, on-time schedules all day long. It's a pretty rare occasion for this time of year so enjoy it while it lasts.

Down in Florida, only Miami and Fort Lauderdale today will see some thunderstorm activity later. It'll be delay free until about 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon and then thunderstorms kick up and limit flight routes into and out of those major airports, but delays should not exceed 30 to 45 minutes.

Detroit, Cleveland and Cincinnati-Covington airports, they're delay free for most of the day also. Then 30-minute arrival and departure delays will kick in between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. during the evening rush period. Low clouds, rain and thunderstorm activity will be the reasons for the delays there.

Chicago O'Hare, Midway and then St. Louis Lambert airports, they'll all see 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays for most of the day. Lot of low clouds, some rain, gusting winds will be a problem, especially in Chicago, and thunderstorms will limit flight routes into and out of those major airports.

Down in Texas, Dallas-Fort Worth, they'll see delay-free conditions, clear skies until the mid to late afternoon, then 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays will ensue as low clouds and rain and then thunderstorm activity, especially to the north and west, will block flight routes at that airport.

And then on the West Coast, only San Francisco, once again, has anything to be concerned with. Thirty to 45-minute arrival delays, low clouds, marine layer fog, that scud layer roll -- will roll in and it should dissipate by noon Pacific Time for on-time schedules thereafter.

But overall a very good day for air travel. Carol, I'll be back in the morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky." Back to you.

COSTELLO: All right, sounds good. Many thanks, Rally.
