CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Are you heading to the airport right now? Hold on for just a minute, Rally Caparas is here. He has his "Eye on the Sky."
Any delays? I'm afraid to ask this morning.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Carol, this is the -- days like this are ones where I wish I was doing sports instead of the delay report. Folks, it's not going to be a great day to travel. Plain and simple, it's going to be terrible.

If you're headed into or out of the major airports in the northeast today, things are going to be slow in the morning. It's only going to be 30 to 45-minute arrival delays into Boston, New York and Philly to start out. Low clouds, rain and fog; but later on this afternoon and evening, the thunderstorms break out all over the place. Fivish, 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, you'll start to see two to three-hour arrival and departure delays. Be patient, folks. Leave the gate agents alone. Air traffic control can't do anything for you. Mother Nature is the one that's playing these games with you.

D.C. Metros, Charlotte and Atlanta, morning low clouds and fog, some 30 to 45-minute arrival delays. Nothing to be concerned about. But later on this afternoon and evening, again, you'll start to see one to two-hour arrival and departure delays. It's going to be a terrible day, like I said, throughout the entire east.

Tampa, Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale, their same scenario, they'll see delay-free conditions early. And then afternoon and evening, thunderstorms will limit flight routes creating 30 to 45- minute arrival and departure delays there.

Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Chicago O'Hare, that's a lot in one graphic here, morning low clouds and poor visibility. That falls primarily for Chicago. They'll see 40 -- 45 minute arrival delays or so. Forty-five to 60 applies to the other airports that we're talking about. And then later on in the afternoon and evening, Chicago will fall out of that. There'll be some departure delays but they won't be nearly as long. But the rest of those airports will see 45 to 60 arrival and departure delays.

Dallas-Fort Worth and St. Louis, 45-minute arrival delays this morning. Low clouds, some fog problems, visibility. A thunderstorm or two passing through Dallas this morning. It'll give you a break during the midday hours. Then later on afternoon and evening, low clouds, thunderstorms will keep those delays going and they could -- they will likely grow, especially if you're departing those airports going eastbound.

San Francisco International, typical marine layer fog, 30 to 45- minute arrival delays until about noon Pacific Time. Burns off nicely, on-time schedules thereafter.

The rest of the country, unless you're going eastbound, you should have pretty good conditions and schedules; but the east, lots of coffee.

Carol, they should take after you.

COSTELLO: Yes, definitely, 6 to 7 to 10 cups each morning.

CAPARAS: There you go, my goodness.

COSTELLO: Thank you, Rally, appreciate it.

CAPARAS: You're welcome.
