BILL HEMMER, CNN ANCHOR: Looking here at a scene from "Hollywood Homicide," one of the big movies out this weekend. Question is, is it any good? Or will you die of boredom watching it? Get it, homicide? Anyway, let's ask Mr. Moviefone, also known as Russ Leatherman, who joins us once again for a look at this weekend's new releases.
Hey, Russ, what did you think?

RUSS LEATHERMAN, "MR. MOVIEFONE": Is it "Hollywood Homicide" or suicide for Harrison Ford?

HARRIS: That bad, huh?

LEATHERMAN: This is one of those Hollywood movies that seems to have been made to bring us in on the remembrance of Harrison in his glory days. They match him with Josh Hartnett, kind of a younger heartthrob. And really, it's an action comedy, but kind of with some drama in it. But the action is sort of lame and the comedy isn't particularly funny. So on the bright side, Leon -- you know what, let me get back to you on the bright side if I could.

HARRIS: That's a great segment to this next one, because this one turned out to be a classic bait and switch, "Dumb and Dumberer." Now, I have to admit, "Dumb and Dumber" was a big hit in my house. My kids loved it. Dad watched it, too, I must say. But it turns out these aren't the same characters. We don't see Jim Carrey in this movie.

LEATHERMAN: No, no Jim Carrey, no Jeff Daniels. And the question is, how many people are going to plop down their 10 bucks expecting to see these guys, and these two other guys show up. Now with all due respect, these guys do a pretty good job in playing the original "Dumb and Dumber" characters. I loved that movie. The Farrelly brothers really had a way of taking fecal humor and making it warm and fuzzy.

HARRIS: You can't admit you liked it in public. That's the problem.

LEATHERMAN: I did. I loved that movie.

But I got to tell you what, it's really sort of sad, because it's another one of those sequels -- this is actually a prequel that's trying to capitalize on the success of the first one. And this one just, it's so "Dumb and Dumberer," it's just stupid, I think.

HARRIS: Straight to video on this one then, huh? LEATHERMAN: Yes, straight to video, and that might even be a stretch.

HARRIS: All right then, how about "The Rugrats." That's a pretty strong franchise. How did this one turn out?

LEATHERMAN: Well, this one turned out pretty good. If you have young kids between, say, 5 and 11 years old, they're going to like this. Nickelodeon has taken "The Rugrats" and matched them with "The Wild Thornberrys," another successful TV franchise, and they're stranded on this deserted island and they have to figure out how to get off. It's a pretty good movie, and the kids will like it. The parents aren't going to be that thrilled about it, and I would suggest maybe go and find Nemo again if you're really looking for a family movie that everybody can enjoy. But this one's pretty good, not bad.

HARRIS: You're still big on "Nemo" then, huh?

LEATHERMAN: I love "Nemo." You know, there's another movie out there right now, if I can give a quick recommendation, it's called "Whale Rider." It's not in very many theaters. It's about a New Zealand girl who's part of the tribe and trying to rise to the pop. It's really, really a good movie. So if you're looking for good a good movie, "Finding Nemo," "Whale Rider." There are some good ones out there.

HARRIS: Is that a tender flick? Is it no action at all? It doesn't sound like any action.

LEATHERMAN: I cried like a little baby, Leon.

HARRIS: Yes, you would. Thanks, Russ.

LEATHERMAN: All right, man. Next week, "From Justin to Kelly." Cannot wait.

HARRIS: That's going to be a good conversation there, I bet. We'll talk about that next week, Russ. Have a good week all right.

LEATHERMAN: See you, man.
