CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: Time for some business buzz right now. Amazon.com is in legal hot water over some celebrity photographs.
Let's get the latest development from Carrie Lee at the Nasdaq market site.

What's this about -- Carrie?

CARRIE LEE, CNN FINANCIAL NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Pun intended on that development, I think, Carol.

That's right, a photo-archiving company is allegedly reportedly suing Amazon.com and several other Web sites for copyright infringement. Now the name of this company is Corbis. It's actually owned by Bill Gates, of course founder of Microsoft. And the company is alleging that the sites have been selling, through Amazon.com, celebrity photos and posters which are copies of photos copyrighted by Corbis and its photographers. So Corbis is reportedly seeking undetermined damages, which could reach millions of dollars.

Now Amazon, according to reports, says that it has never been notified of a problem. Still, Amazon.com is removing the photos and other materials from its Web site. So an interesting development, Carol, as you say.

COSTELLO: Yes, that's a big whoops. You'll give us a look at -- you'll give us a look at the futures in the next half hour.

LEE: Yes, things look pretty flat this Tuesday, of course it's a shortened week. We did see a little bit of a pull back yesterday. But for the second quarter of the year, the averages did pretty well, the best performance since 2001. The rest of the week expected to be pretty volatile with the shortened holiday weekend. Today, though, we get a big manufacturing report out this morning. That could affect the trading day. So far though, Carol, pretty flat.

COSTELLO: OK. Carrie Lee, thanks, we'll check back with you in the next half hour.
