CAROL COSTELLO, CNN ANCHOR: On the road and in the air, it is going to be a very busy day for travelers so let's check in with Travelocity's air traffic expert Rally Caparas.
Good morning -- Rally.

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Carol. You're exactly right, lots of folks getting out of town for the holiday weekend. And you're going to see some long lines in the security -- well, at the security lines at the airports, folks, so give yourselves plenty of time at the airport. Make sure you arrive at least two hours prior to your departure.

Delays today. Philadelphia and the D.C. Metros, they're dealing with some very low clouds, some fog and poor visibility at those airports. And then later on, we'll see some afternoon and evening thunderstorm activity kick up around the South Atlantic and Gulf Coast. So expect 30 to 45-minute arrival delays into those major airports. Low clouds, rain and fog and then those thunderstorms will be the problems around the Mid-Atlantic.

Tampa, Orlando, Miami and Fort Lauderdale, they're delay free at the moment, but you can expect or you can count on afternoon and evening thunderstorm activity causing 45-minute arrival and departure delays at those locations. Scattered thunderstorms will be limiting flight routes into and out of just about the entire state of Florida later, so be ware.

Minneapolis-St. Paul, the weather shouldn't be too bad. They'll see some thunderstorm activity to the south and east of them. That means 30-minute arrival and departure delays as those en route thunderstorms block routes to the east and south making for about 30 minutes extra time in the air for arrivals and 30 on the ground for departures out of there.

Houston's George Bush, delay free this morning, but they will see scattered thunderstorm activity pop up, as will most of the airports along the Gulf Coast. So keep that in mind at Houston's George Bush this morning.

And then Houston -- I'm sorry, San Francisco International on the West Coast, they'll see what they normally see, once again, 30 to 45- minute arrival delays. Low clouds, marine layer fog, it should be gone by about 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time for on-time schedules thereafter.

The rest of the West looks beautiful once again. I won't be in -- I won't be back tomorrow morning, but I'll see you on Monday, Carol. Have a happy Fourth of July.

COSTELLO: You too. Many thanks, Rally Caparas.
