KRIS OSBORN, CNN ANCHOR: Well a lot of people may be headed to the airport this morning, the resumption of life and work after the holiday weekend so it's time to talk to Travelocity's air traffic expert, our "Eye on the Sky," Rally Caparas. He joins us now on the phone.
Good morning to you, Rally. Where can we expect delays? Is this rain going to slow things down for travelers?

RALLY CAPARAS, AIR TRAFFIC SPECIALIST, TRAVELOCITY.COM: Good morning, Kris.

Yes, it will. As a matter of fact, yesterday we saw some huge delays at Chicago and New York, two and three-hour arrival and departure delays. Be careful at the water coolers this morning with who you joke with, there could be a few cranky people.

So delays this morning.

New York City Metros, Philadelphia and the D.C. Metros, you'll see delay-free conditions early; but later on this afternoon and evening, you can expect 45 to 60-minute arrival and departure delays. There'll be thunderstorms blocking routes, pressing up against those metro areas. May not see a whole lot of weather at the airports, but thunderstorms en route will be a problem.

Atlanta Hartsfield, 30 to 45-minute arrival delays this morning. Low clouds, as Chad's been showing you on the satellite shot, fog, poor visibility; and then later on this afternoon and evening, expect thunderstorm activity, limited flight routes a problem.

Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati-Covington, kind of a reverse scenario. This morning they'll see 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays, low clouds and thunderstorms. But they should see some clearing and improved conditions and on-time schedules later on this afternoon and evening.

Chicago O'Hare and Midway, they saw lots of delays yesterday. Well, they'll see some more today. Delay free at the moment, but later on this afternoon, expect 60 to 90-minute arrival and departure delays as low clouds, rain, strong gusting winds and en route thunderstorms block routes to make things difficult there.

Houston's George Bush down in the south coast of Texas, expect delay-free starts this morning, then afternoon and evening thunderstorms will create 30 to 45-minute arrival and departure delays. Thunderstorm activity limiting flight routes along the Gulf Coast and throughout the Gulf of Mexico for that matter.

And then on the West Coast, San Francisco, they'll see their typical marine layer fog roll in. It should be gone by about 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time, but until then, expect 30 to 45-minute arrival delays only. The rest of the west looks great.

I'll be back tomorrow morning with the latest from Travelocity's "Eye on the Sky." Kris, back to you in the studio.

OSBORN: OK, thanks a lot, Rally.
